Ever since Kinilian began, a number of the younger kids are accompanied by their mothers during the activities. For quite some time, we have been praying for a way to minister to these women as well. Our prayers were answered when Joey invited her Tita Anne to come to Kinilian. For the past three Kinilian sessions, Tita Anne has been conducting small group discussions with about 10 or so moms while their kids are occupied with the Kinilian class activities.
Tita Anne Paredes Pau received her training in Counseling from the Center for Family Ministries at the Ateneo de Manila University. During Tita Anne's first session with the Kinilian moms, many of them expressed their delight for the chance to also share their experiences and learn something new that would help them care for their families. Tita Anne also found out that many moms were grateful their kids had the opportunity to attend Kinilian as this has had an impact on their behavior at home. They shared that dealing with the younger kids was easy compared to the teens, who have more issues and are exposed to a lot of vices in their neighborhood such as drugs.Tita Anne shared with us that she hopes to help them realize their God-given roles in the spiritual rearing of their children, pointing out that we meet the kids only twice a month, so the parents need to follow through with teaching good values and keeping the faith at home.
Praise God for expanding our territory as we continue to share our hope in Jesus to all families, especially the poor, and reclaim this world for Christ.
